1. What are Lead Soakers?
Lead soakers are small, individual sheets placed between each course of tile or slate at abutments. They form a stepped waterproofing layer beneath a cover flashing.
2. Code Selection
Code 3 lead is usually sufficient for tile roofs, while Code 4 is recommended for slate roofs. The thicker code compensates for thinner slate courses and higher exposure.

Soakers should extend at least 100 mm up the abutment and 100 mm under the covering material. Length matches the gauge of the slate or tile plus 25 mm lap. Side laps are achieved naturally with each course.
4. Fixing Methods
